The EB-5 program administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") has concurrent goals of immigration to the U.S. through qualified investment into a commercial enterprise, educating Investor’s family members through the U.S. system, and job creation for U.S. citizens or lawful residents.  Foreign Investors receive conditional residency after taking the risk in a qualified investment of their own creation or as part of an approved EB-5 Regional Center.   After two years of receiving such status, the investor may apply for a removal of conditional status to a status of "Resident" as long as certain criteria are met.

The required investment level in a qualified EB-5 Regional Program is US $1,000,000 that can be reduced to US $500,000 by meeting certain criteria.   In addition to the investment, there are applicable legal, government and Regional Center Fees of approximately $50,000.  To qualify for the EB-5 investment, an individual has to have a net worth of US $1,000,000 or an annual income in excess of US $200,000 for the previous two years.  In addition, the investor has to demonstrate that the funds were legally obtained and is of good moral character.

The Behar Law Group, (“BLG”), headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is one of the foremost authorities in the USCIS EB-5 program (founder Larry Behar has published books on the subject) and has multi-lingual capabilities to facilitate the entire process.   The Behar Law Group also has access to a wide array of Region Centers to accommodate the interest of qualified participants and a team of professionals qualified in Legal-Immigration, Securities, Economic Planning, Finance-CPAs, Banking, Marketing and Business Consulting.
